Flower Care Tips & Tricks

Keeping your flowers fresh and beautiful is simple with just a few easy steps!

Fresh flowers brighten any home, and with the right care, you can enjoy their beauty much longer. Here are our expert flower care tips for keeping your bouquet fresh, fragrant, and lasting!

🌿 General Fresh Flower Care

  • Trim the stems: Always cut 1–2 cm off the stems at a 45° angle every 2–3 days. This allows better water absorption.

  • Change vase water regularly: Replace the water every 2 days to prevent bacteria growth and keep flowers healthy.

  • Remove extra leaves: Any leaves below the waterline should be removed to keep water clean.

  • Avoid direct sunlight & heat: Keep flowers in a cool spot, away from heaters, vents, and direct sunlight for maximum freshness.

🌹 How to Care for Roses

Roses are classic, but they need extra love to last.

  • Keep the vase full: Roses drink a lot of water — ensure the vase is always at least half full.

  • Revive drooping roses: If a rose head starts to bend, submerge the entire stem and bloom in cool water for 30 minutes to restore freshness.

  • Cut stems often: Re-cut rose stems every 2 days to keep them vibrant.

🐾 Pet-Safe Flowers

  • Safe flowers for pets: Roses, orchids, sunflowers, gerbera daisies, and snapdragons are pet-friendly.

  • Toxic flowers for pets: Lilies, tulips, azaleas, chrysanthemums, and daffodils should be kept away from pets.

🌸 How to Make Flowers Last Longer

  • Use flower food: Add the flower food packet that comes with your bouquet. Or, make your own: 1 teaspoon sugar + a few drops of lemon juice in the vase water.

  • Quick refresh: If flowers look tired, cut the stems and place them in lukewarm water for a boost.

  • Clean vase: Always use a clean vase before arranging your flowers.
